It is getting close to the first football game of the year and I thought we should get the elimination pool started. The more people we get the bigger the pot. I ask that you forward this e-mail to anybody I may have omitted or those you think would like to participate this year. The rules are the same as last year: Pick any NFL team to win the first week of the season. (No point spreads) If your team wins you continue on. If they lose you are eliminated. However, you will have the opportunity to "buy back" in during the first three weeks of the season. You can only pick (use) a team once during the season. The last one standing gets the pot. However, at any point in the season, the people remaining may decide to split the pot in any fashion they choose provided their decision is unanimous. Buy Back: If you are eliminated
in the first three weeks you will have the opportunity to get back into the pool. It will cost you an extra $50 for every week you were in the pool. Example: If you pick the Saints in week one and the lose to Seattle - you can buy back in for $100 (Another entry fee of $50 and Week 1's $50) If you get knocked out in week two it will cost you $150 to get back in and a week three departure will cost $200 to get back in. You must make your decision to get back in before the next week. (Example: If you lose in week one and you do not get back in before week two you are permanently out.)

IF YOU ARE ELIMINATED IN WEEK 4 YOU ARE OUT - THERE IS NO BUY BACK AFTER WEEK 3.

The entry fee is $50 and is payable prior to the first week of the year. Mail your checks to ________. Your pick is due every week by Friday @ 3PM so that I can e-mail everyone the picks for the upcoming weekend. On weeks when there is a Thursday night game your pick is due by 3PM Thursday if you choose to play one of the teams playing that night. (Remember the first game of the year is on Thursday September 9) Please get your picks in timely! If I do not receive your pick by
the 3PM deadline on Friday you will be eliminated. There are too many people in the pool and it is impossible for me to try and track down picks.
