I finished my post early this morning and realized that I had once read a similar article by Mike Caro. I did some digging around this morning and found it, although it's not quite the same thing. My post is about pre-flop tournament strategy in general and his is more about early hands in a multi-table tourney, but the basic theme, that overzealously trying to knock another player out isn't necessarily sound strategy, seems to be consistent.
