My second night in Prague I was overserved by the restaurant as well as the lobby bar as well as the casino in the hotel. When I am very very very drunk and in a casino I have absolutely no inhibitions. I will gladly throw out bets >$100 as if it is $1. This was one of those nights.
When playing roulette in Prague, it is hard to keep up with how you are doing. First you have a combination of roullette color chips and regular casino chips. You have to translate those into one denomination, which you translate into Czech crowns, which you translate to US$ at a rate of 24:1. Of course, with large bets being won and lost, it is a moving target. And, of course, the drinking hleps nothing.
I think that at one point, I was up over $800. I cashed out at 2:30 a.m. up $550. I felt like ass at work the next day, but everytime I felt that wad of cash in my pocket I cheered up. With pints of beer running around $1 each, I can actually afford to buy a beer for every single member of the conference. Not that I will.
