I don't recall ever being dealt A2AK, double suited in Omaha 8 before. Most people consider it the best hand in O8. If my calculations are correct, the overall odds of being dealt that hand is approximately 0.004%. (if anybody knows the exact odds, let me know.) That is highly unlikely. Well, I am playing $25 PL O/8 right now, and guess what happened a few minutes ago?
TJ says that he prefers A2A3 double suited - his logic is that your low is less likely to be counterfeited and that is better than the likelihood of JTQ coming up without pairing the board and endangering your losing the entire pot with no made low hand and no flush. I don't know the exact odds though, maybe whoever is calculating yours can come up with mine as well.
I actually won a VERY nice pot w/AA23 w/NUT NUT, just not suited. I know I made a boat AAAxx & wheel. So, I played the 23 mine w/the A on the board with A-4-5-x-x w/x pairing the board I don't recall.
I've gotta to find people willing to play O8 (in Dallas).
