I have been playing at the $2-$4 table getting beat, so I demoted myself to the poor table, where the following hand happened. Why can't this happen to me at the bigger tables????!!??

Did you think you were ahead? Couldn't have.

So you're playing 9 clean outs for a 2:1 payoff? (add a few more percentage points for a 'push' if a 10 falls)

Maybe THAT'S why you're playing at these tables.

I should have provided more context:

1) you bet I thought I was ahead. An all in bet in this situation on a 10c-25c online table can mean anything from monster hand to stone cold bluff. I have seen bigger bets from worse hands - frequently.

Even if he had, say K9 or KT (which is precisely the sort of hand that low limit onliners will go all in with), I have 12 outs or a 47% chance of winning. If he has something worse, I am ahead.

2. Of course, when he showed his AK, I was surprised (particularly given his pre-flop slow play) to find myself being behind. So, I felt quite lucky to win.

I should have been more clear, that I felt quite lucky indeed (and wish that I could be as lucky at the higher limits).
