I learned something on a hand the other day. I'd like to tell the story in three parts. Here is part 1:
Say you have 33 and see the flop with 4 other limpers. The flop comes 888. You get a couple checks before you take a stab with a bet of approximately 1/2 the pot. Guy to your left has you covered; he goes all-in for about 140% of the pot. Every folds to you. Do you call?
I think you have to. You have no information though, and you're probably in trouble.
This happened to me 2 weeks in a row at a place in Houston. Both times I held KK and QQ, and the flop was TTT and 888.
Each time I got all in on the flop with someone who flopped quads. Bad luck I figure...

J - You left out the 6th word in your comment. This is clearly the most important word.

Call.
But I'm probably wrong. :)

I would probably call against most players but it really does depend on who it is. Junell? Probably, yes, I call. Kim Hock? Probably not. Fro? Maybe. If it's someone I don't know, then it would depend on what I saw him doing earlier in the evening. If it's still early in the evening, then I would probably fold right away until I learned more about all the people I was playing with.
