I dont get why this is so unusual? The guy had the balls to fire 3 bullets and he got caught. I dont know if I am calling the turn and river bets with A2 here.

forgot my bigger point -
In my experience - and I would love to know if other people's experience differs - firing 3 bullets into the pot with nothing at all is highly uncommon in live games but not at all uncommon in internet games. To throw out a highly imprecise estimate, I would say that I see it 15 times more often on the internet.
So the guys behavior in context of my general experience on the internet was the reason for my calls and the reason for the post.
